By April, there was a nationwide shortage of face masks. All PPE was rightfully prioritized towards healthcare facilities and essential workers. However, this left the general public vulnerable. Vida, in Spanish, means life. VidaHealth’s goal was to bring hope and life in the midst of darkness and death. While designing the VidaHealth logo, Brenda incorporated a dot in the midst of the word health, in order to emphasize “heal.” The branding was designed with the perspective of hope in mind. The packaging was designed to be minimal and environmentally cautious. Made of 100% organic linen, the pouch could be used to store the mask in-between uses. Brenda incorporated minimal sleek geometric designs to emphasize a clean/modern look. STATEMENT As LeanBox continues to expand they are challenged with managing a high number of stock keeping units with various shelf lives, supplier schedules and delivery schedules. Customer demand is uncertain and over-stocking perishable products leads to waste, while under-stocking leads to potential lost demand. The final tool designed must incorporate supply chain principles and historical sales data to calculate the optimal inventory stocking level for a specified location. The tool must be created using Microsoft Excel as this is the application currently in use at LeanBox. The final model uses discrete demand distributions to quantify demand by location, brand and category. The tool allows the user to display demand over time for each location and product grouping before running the corresponding inventory policy.
